- All BFA High School Athletes
must be enrolled in a minimum of 7 classes. Exceptions to this rule may be granted and approved by the
administration.

- Students with one F or 50% of
their grades below C-, from the previous semester or at the midpoint in
regular season games will be placed on Warning status in
interscholastic sports, providing they sign and participate in a
contract/plan for maintaining or improving their academic standing
during the sports season. This contract/plan will be developed by
the students, parents, coach, guidance counselor, and teachers, and may
include a weekly study schedule, tutorial help, after school help,
weekly monitoring, etc.
- Students with two F's from the previous semester
or at the midpoint in regular season games will not be eligible to
Actively participate in interscholastic sporting events.
They may practice with the team but can not participate in games.
They will be place on Probation status, and must sign and
participate in a contract/plan to insure their continued team
involvement.
- An athlete's academic progress will be reviewed
at a designated semester report time. His/her participation status will be
determined at the midpoint of the individuals particular season.
Athletes placed on probation or declared ineligible at the midpoint of
their season are not eligible for "active" team membership for the
remainder of that particular season. Any student who is not
eligible to participate will have the opportunity to meet with his/her
administrator if there are extenuating circumstances that led to the
student's eligibility.

- An athlete will be eligible or ineligible after
the guidance department has confirmed his/her grades
- At the beginning of the school year all incoming
freshmen are eligible. All other athletes must meet the previously
mentioned requirements based on their grades from the last marking
period in the spring of the previous school year.
- It is the responsibility of each athlete to show
proper proof of grade.
- It is the responsibility of the coach to check on
the athlete's academic progress and classroom attitudes before and
during the season.
- The coach is responsible to certify with the
Athletic Director the eligibility of all the athletes in the sport
he/she coaches.
- These rules shall govern all activities under the
direction of the Athletic Director.
- The consequences for improper behavior/attitude
could result in the athlete's suspension from participation as deemed
necessary following a meeting of the athlete, his/her coach, and the
Director of Athletics. Written or verbal confirmation of this
consequence will then be made to the athlete's parents/guardians.
