The Comet Softball Program

The Comet slogan which now resides on the backside of the home dugout is to "BELIEVE". The Coaches encourage the players to believe in Themselves, Each Other, and the Coaches.
The coaches also expect that the players will give back. They encourage them to help out the youth by helping at clinics or supporting their home town teams. They also are involved in the community. For years now the Comets have helped the Rotary park cars during their home show. They help set up for the pancake breakfast. The Comets have been cleaning up the park after the Maple Festival for many years. A new tradition of recent times is helping out with the Run for Jim. The Comets have made a name for themselves with their effort and have always represented their team, their schools, and their families with a great deal of pride.
The Comets have also had a great tradition on the diamonds as well. The efforts over the years has made them one of the most outstanding programs in the state. They have become a model for other schools to follow. The Comets have been known for outstanding pitching, timely hitting, excellent defense, and the ability to execute in what is called small ball. Small ball is the ability to score runs by bunting, stealing and forcing the defense to make mistakes.
State Titles and Metro Titles are always the goals for the Comets. However, it is the journey that they share in striving for these goals that makes each season special.
