Bellows Free Academy - Mr. Chris Hungerford

Welcome! I teach Earth Science, and coach Boys Golf at Bellows Free Academy. In addition, I run the gaming club that meets on Wednesdays each week at 2:45 in E202. I am a life-long resident of St. Albans, VT and graduated from BFA in 2000.  I got my undergraduate degree in Biology (pre-med) at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY.  I spent one year at UVM Medical School before deciding that I wanted to teach and coach instead of medicine.  I got my Masters in Education from Drexel University in 2007, and have been teaching science and coaching at BFA ever since.  I love Vermont, and the natural world, and being able to teach the subject to students is great.

When I'm not teaching, I'm usually busy traveling the back roads of Vermont, taking pictures of landscapes, wildlife, towns, foliage, and waterfalls.  Recently, I've been lucky enough to have my Vermont Photography prints published in the last two issues of Vermont Life magazine.  During vacations, I love to travel and shoot different areas, and have been fortunate to go to Seattle, Mexico, and the Grand Canyon over the last year.  I do art shows throughout the year displaying and selling my photography, and love interacting and discussing Vermont with the people I meet.

I enjoy playing golf and hockey, working out, reading, and hiking.  I can't get enough of professional sports and comedy television.  I have two Boston terriers, Tiger & Jack, seen below, named after the famous golfers.  I hope you find this page useful for staying updated.  Let me know if you have any suggestions. - Mr. Hungerford
