This is “I love to read and write” week. There will be silent reading 5th period today and 3rd on Tuesday. Make sure you have a book to read. Come to the library during your lunch if you need to pick up something to read.

Reminder: the NAHS is having a work meeting from 3 – 6 p.m. TODAY.

There are 3 more slots for the NYC Art Trip if anyone is interested. Please see Ms. Christie or Ms. Spencer ASAP.

All Nicaragua students: your money for the trip is due by next Friday the 22nd to Ms. Blumenfeld.

Applications for the first period Driver’s Ed class during third trimester are available in front of the Northwest Technical Center Office TODAY.

Congratulations to Clio Smurro, Elizabeth Pion and Paul Leroux, the local competition winners of the Vermont Honors Competition for Excellence in Writing.

The Chamber Singers will meet after school at 2:30 in the Chorus Room. This is a mandatory rehearsal.

Table Tennis will be held on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

For everyone participating in the Penguin Plunge tomorrow, please see Pat Thompson during your lunch to turn in any donations you have collected.

The Boys’ Basketball final home game is tonight vs. Missisquoi. Come and help celebrate senior night! Game time is 7:30.

Attention all girls interested in playing lacrosse this spring: There will be a quick informational meeting today after school up in the Art Rooms. If you cannot attend, please stop by the Art Rooms to see Ms. Spencer.

Attention students: due to yesterday’s snow day, Talent Show auditions will be taking place today after school beginning at 2:45 in the Auditorium. If you are unable to attend these auditions, but are still interested in performing in the show, stop by the Guidance Office and leave your name. Remember, you must audition to perform in the show!

BFA’s 4th Annual Talent Nigh is coming on Wednesday, February 13th! The show will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium with an admission charge to benefit local charities. Come watch some of BFA’s most talented students compete for a chance to perform at the Bash for Cash at Higher Ground on March 21st!

There will be a meeting for Skills USA Officers on Monday, February 11th at 9:05 in Culinary.

-        Vermont Federal Credit Union Scholarship. This scholarship is open to Vermont Federal Credit Union members. Application deadline is 4/4/08.
-        The American Legion Auxiliary Girl Scout Achievement Award for students who have earned the Girls Scout Gold Award. Deadline for applications is 2/10/08.
-        The American Legion Auxiliary Spirit of Youth Scholarship for junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary. Deadline for applications is 3/1/08.
-        The American Legion Auxiliary National President’s Scholarship for sons/daughters, grandsons/granddaughters of veterans. Deadline for applications is 3/1/08.
-        Franklin County Field Days, Inc. Scholarship. Special consideration will be given to those applicants pursuing a career in agriculture. Application deadline is 4/30/08.

Community Service opportunities for seniors: Friday & Saturday, February, 22 & 23 three seniors are needed to run spotlights for Collins/Perley Figure Skating Rehearsal 2/24 and Show 2/25. Please sign up by Monday, February 11th. And, two or more seniors or other high school students needed to sell tickets, programs and flowers at the entrance to Collins/Perley Complex on night of Figure Skating Show. Please sign up by Monday, February 11th. Contact Mary Chiappinelli at 524-3168.

Common Ground Youth Center will be having our monthly coffee house on February 22nd in honor of Black History Month! Please join us and share spoken word, hip hop, music or art! Tomorrow’s Student Council meeting during period 4 will be in Room A-302. Please wear your shirts! Go to class for 10 minutes, then to Room A-302. See Rachel Keller if you cannot attend.

Reminder to all students interested in performing in the 4th Annual BFA Talent Night next Wednesday, February 13th: Auditions are TODAY and TOMORROW beginning at 2:45 in the Auditorium. You MUST audition to perform in the show. If you have any questions, stop by the Guidance Office.

Pride Alliance will be meeting to start it’s planning for April’s National Day of Silence. All are welcomed to come join us and help all voices be heard.

Auditions for BFA’s 4th Annual Talent Show will be THIS Wednesday, February 6th and Thursday, February 7th beginning at 2:45 p.m. in the Auditorium. You MUST attend one of these auditions to perform in the show. Stop by the Guidance Office if you have any questions.

REACH OUT, Leadership’s Community Service Group, will be meeting tomorrow at 7:00 in Room A-204. All are welcomed to come get involved.

Congratulations to all four casts for their great performances in this year’s Junior Jamboree! A reminder to the casts: we will be meeting at 2:40 today in the Auditorium.
